We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shutdown Manager to oversee and ensure the successful execution of shutdown projects in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional project management skills, and a thorough understanding of HSE policies and procedures. This position demands a strategic thinker who can effectively plan, organize, and coordinate all aspects of the shutdown process, from pre-planning to post-execution. The Shutdown Manager will be responsible for managing the project budget, ensuring compliance with quality control procedures, and maintaining high safety standards at the worksite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement robust Quality and HSE policies in accordance with industry standards.
- Oversee the execution of the HSE plan on-site and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Lead the complete pre and post-shutdown planning, including efficient management of materials, equipment, and manpower.
- Provide guidance and supervision to the Manager-Execution, Area In-Charges, Area Engineers, and Supervisors to ensure timely project completion.
- Conduct a thorough analysis of project contracts to identify potential risks and devise proactive measures to mitigate them effectively.
- Define, verify, and control the project scope to ensure that all essential work elements are included.
- Maintain comprehensive financial, progress, and productivity reports and use the data to enhance productivity and cost-efficiency.
- Conduct accurate project cost estimation and ensure resource allocation aligns with the allocated budget.
- Uphold responsibility as the project leader, ensuring adherence to financial, productivity, and quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and norms for timely project completion.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.E/B. Tech) in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 17 years of experience in the maintenance of Oil & Gas/Petrochemical Plants, including at least 5 years in a Shutdown Manager role on the contractor side.
- Gulf experience is mandatory, and prior experience working in Kuwait is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of project management principles and best practices.
