We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team in Oman. As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and secure work environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors. Your primary responsibility will be to implement and enforce safety protocols, conduct inspections, and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
Key Responsibilities: Safety Officer Needed for Oman
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in line with local regulations and international best practices.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Provide safety training and orientation to new employees, contractors, and visitors to raise awareness of safety procedures and practices.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Keep abreast of industry best practices and update safety protocols accordingly.
- Collaborate with management and department heads to create safety programs and initiatives that align with organizational goals.
- Monitor and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by employees and visitors.
- Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks to address safety concerns and disseminate important safety information.
- Maintain records and documentation related to safety activities and incidents.
- Assist in emergency preparedness planning and response, including drills and evacuation procedures.
- Provide safety-related support and guidance to project teams and contractors.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections of work sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Promote a positive safety culture by encouraging reporting and participation in safety initiatives.
Requirements: Safety Officer Needed for Oman
- Nebosh or losh certification is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety-related roles within the Gulf region.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and practices in Oman and the Gulf region.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to identify and address safety issues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
